But Did You Die? — A Book Written in the Middle of Becoming
Welcome back, beautiful soul
There are some stories that are not written from the end…
but from the middle.
This is one of those stories.
I’ve been quietly writing something God placed in me years ago—not as a polished testimony or a finished success story—but as a reflection of what it looks like to still be in it.
The book is called:
But Did You Die?
Still Here. Still Becoming.
Volume One
And no—it’s not a memoir in the traditional sense.
It’s not a story about everything working out neatly.
It’s a book written in the waiting.
In the rebuilding.
In the uncertainty.
In the becoming.
Pause here for a moment:
Have you ever felt like your life was happening in pieces instead of chapters?
Are you in a season where things feel unfinished or unclear?
What does becoming look like in your life right now?
Some chapters are healed.
Some are still unfolding.
Some are still being lived in real time.
I used to think I needed clarity before I could share anything.
That my story had to be “complete” before I could speak about it.
But life doesn’t always give us that kind of timeline.
Sometimes you are still raising children while learning yourself.
Sometimes you are rebuilding while grieving.
Sometimes you are trusting God without knowing what comes next.
And sometimes… you are just still here.
Take a breath and reflect:
Where in your life are you still waiting for answers?
What would it look like to accept still in process instead of not enough?
Are you giving yourself permission to be in the middle of your story?
A Sneak Peek
Here is a small glimpse into the heart of the book:
There are moments in life when everything collapses at once.
Not loudly.
Not dramatically.
But slowly—piece by piece—until you no longer recognize the life you are standing in.And yet, somehow, you are still standing.
Still breathing.
Still becoming.
Still here.
This book was born out of seasons most people don’t see.
Seasons of motherhood before identity was fully formed.
Seasons of loss, housing instability, rebuilding, and starting over more than once.
Seasons where faith was not always strong—but still present.
And through it all, I kept asking myself one question:
But did you die?
No.
I did not.
And somehow, that is the thread holding everything together.
Reflect with me:
What has kept you going in seasons you thought would break you?
What quiet strength have you overlooked in your own life?
If you’re honest… are you still here too?
What This Book Really Is
This is a living book.
It does not pretend to have all the answers.
It simply reflects what it means to be human in transition:
still healing
still learning
still trusting
still becoming
It is for anyone who has ever felt like they are starting over again…
later than expected…
or more times than they planned.
If that is you, I want you to know something very simple:
You are not behind.
You are not forgotten.
And your story is not over.
One last reflection:
What if your life is not delayed, but developing?
What if the waiting is part of the becoming?
What would change if you trusted that your story is still being written?
More Coming Soon
This is just a glimpse.
Volume One is still unfolding, and I will be sharing more as release approaches.
But for now, I want to leave you with this:
Even in the middle of everything shifting…
I am still here.
Still trusting God.
Still becoming.
This is a living story — and I’m still writing it in real time.
More reflections like this are unfolding inside my upcoming book series.
If you’re walking through your own becoming, I hope you stay close.
With care and intention,

This was extremely encouraging and right in time. My best friend and I have been going through some intense seasons the last 3-4 years and every blow feels defeating. Yet still we stand. We have been reframing failure as the failure required to lean out and grow, to become stronger and more equipped for the next chapter. This blog was that reinforcement— we’re still becoming! I feel it and am excited to further become. Thank you for this.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I’m glad this was confirmation for you and you’re right we’re all still becoming!
